i was + will be are a husband and wife design duo from the US, inspired by antique concepts and good craftsmanship.

this weekend i came home to a package after a very tough week! it came as a very nice surprise - from portland, oregon all the way to my home town of nottingham in a matter of 3 weeks! the thing that struck me immediately was the attention to detail. not just simply put into a bubble wrap bag. string tied with thought and care, a printed badge, a waxed sealed thank you note and it's own cotton drawstring bag. i was instantly in love.

a lot of things are made to order, like this necklace from the helsinki series, but the delivery time was next to nothing - especially as it was coming half way across the world. the colours are bright and bold yet are mixed with brass and gems to create a vintage feel. visit the etsy shop to browse more.

next on this list? tumble series in bone white, spear of destiny and one fine day brass facets on a vintage chain.

today i got thinking about how much i've not been looking after my feet, particularly as they're mostly covered in socks and trainers for work. i realised i couldn't even remember the last time i moisturised them and my turquoise barry m was chipped beyond belief. after soaking my feet and using an exfoliating mask i browsed sandals online and these are the lovely beauties i came up with! (tan summer sandals anyone..?)

i'm not sure if anyone reads this blog, but i'm glad i have a visual diary that i can look back on that incorporates all my inspirations, wants and loves.

recently i came across stone and honey. they make really delicate simple jewellery. started by teresa robinson, she hand makes all the jewellery in her studio in portland, or. i love the delicate pieces, particularly the pinwheel and honeycomb designs. mainly sold in the US, however there are a few online stockists selling stone and honey.

anastassia elias is a french artist who usually works within the realms of illustration and painting. the rolls come to life with the addition of light and are unbelievably intricate.

i am absolutely in awe of elias after seeing these paper sculptures. they feature different scenes made from the middle of toilet rolls and are created inside using tweezers. they are so perfect. visit her portfolio and website here.

i've liked comfort station for a while now, and after since getting my hands on their elk man gold and silver necklace i have fell in love with them even more. today, i rekindled that love!

looking through their favourites and spring/summer from last year i realised why i fell so hard for them in the first place...

they use everything from the exact locations of specific towns in the world ('love' a town in the bahamas, 'hope' a town in devon) to the phonetic code for love (lima, oscar, victor, echo) which are inscribed onto silver and gold throughout their jewellery collections. other collections which give me butterflies are sliced poetry and sliced atlas. these feature antique scores and atlas' which have been laser cut and used within the jewellery design. i just can't love them any more!!! browse the webshop at comfortstation.co.uk or alternatively visit their flagship at 22 cheshire street (just off brick lane), east london.
